Raises / Alterations / Adaptations To Customers Own Footwear

We can adapt just about any kind of footwear / shoes for problem feet

Footwear (shoe) adaptations / alterations and raises can take on many forms, from raises / build-ups on the outside or inside of the footwear (shoe) for leg discrepancy to adding rocker soles to footwear (shoe).

Bespoke insoles, inside raises / build-ups and custom made orthotics can be an enormous help to alleviate the associated problems with both posture and painful feet, and can be made to fit your existing footwear (shoe) or bespoke footwear (shoe).

Often raises / build-ups can be set into the sole and heel so that it is barely visible, this can be achieved on both moulded units (trainers ect.) and standard rubber or leather soles.

Here are some examples of work we do:

  • Wedge in Sole & Heel
  • Rocker Sole
  • Raises / Build-ups to Sole & Heel
  • Raises / Build-ups inside shoe
  • Stiffener in Sole
  • Lowering the Heel
  • Additional raise / build-up to the Heel
  • Wedge in Heel
  • Upper Repairs
  • Fitting sockets & “T” or “Y” Straps

Orthopaedic adaptions / alterations - a solution for problem feet

Orthopaedic adaptations / alterations - a solution for problem feet There are many ways of ensuring your feet receive the right support from the shoes you wear. Adaptations / alterations and raises are a common solution to problematic feet. For example, people who suffer from leg shortenings. We can adapt just about any shoe, even a sports trainer, with a raise / build-up (either on the inside or the outside of the shoe) to accommodate for such a problem.

Comfortable shoe adaptions / alterations for boots and shoes

Also, for ladies who struggle with very slim legs and cannot wear knee high boots, we can takein most boots to fit comfortably and snugly around the leg. It is even possible to adapt the sole of a shoe to promote the correct ‘treading’ of the foot (i.e. ensuring the foot rolls onto the balls of the feet and then off the toes) by incorporating a ‘rocker sole’. This is very helpful for people who have had joints fused together and thus have limited motion in the feet.

Orthopaedic adaptations / alterations for pronation and supination

We often find that people have problems with the fact that their ankles lean inward or outward (pronation and supination) and that they do not wish to wear orthotics to correct this. In these cases we can insert wedges into the soles and/or heels of shoes to correct the position of the foot and ankle.
