Frequently Asked Questions

Orthotics and bespoke handmade shoes and other footwear

Orthotics

Q. What are orthotics?

A. Orthotics are specially designed insoles made to correct balance and promote the natural working of all the structures in your feet.

Q. Do I need orthotics?

A. If you suffer from painful feet, lower back, knee or hip pain you might have problems with your feet that could be corrected with the help of orthotics. See Foot Problems for more information.

Q. How long do orthotics take to make?

A. Our orthotics generally take around three to five days to complete.

Q. What is custom-made?

A. Custom-made means that the orthotics are made to accommodate your individual needs. They are made right here on the premises, so any adjustments that might need to be made can be undertaken immediately.

Q. How long do they last?

A. The life of any orthotic varies from person to person. There are many factors that contribute to the wear & tear, and so it is near impossible to give an accurate estimate for any given pair of orthotics.

Q. Will Orthotics help my foot problems?

A. Orthotics are helpful for many ailments of the foot, however they are not a complete cure. Orthotic devices cannot reverse damage already occurred; they can however reduce the severity of the symptoms and relieve much of the pain caused by the problems you experience. In some cases symptoms can be eliminated. Ask your Orthotist.

Q. Do I wear Orthotics all day?

A. Orthotics like glasses, work only when you use them. Orthothics do not change the structure of a foot, but help realign its joints to improve posture and function. All day use of your orthotic is generally recommended to control or reduce pain or fatigue.

Bespoke handmade shoes and other footwear

Q. What is bespoke?

A. Bespoke (mostly associated with tailoring) literally means custom made or made to order.

Q. How long does it take to make bespoke shoes?

A. Shoes generally take 4-5 weeks from first fitting to completion. This may vary according to the number of fittings and adjustments required to ensure your shoes are perfect for your feet.

Q. Do you only make men's bespoke shoes?

A. No, we can also make a great variety of ladies shoes in fashionable styles.

Q. Do you repair footwear as well?

A. We undertake all types of repairs on our shoes as well customer's own shoes.
